Additional Driver
Rental conditions apply to all additional drivers. An additional driver surcharge is applicable to each additional driver at a rate of 5.00 EUR per day exclusive of VAT and airport/railway fees (where applicable).
After Hours Service
After-Hours Pick-up
This rental location offers pick-up outside the opening hours. Customers must email the branch at cosenza@locautorent.it to arrange a pick-up outside the opening hours. An additional charge of 36.60 EUR applies for pick-ups outside the opening hours.
After-Hours Return
Currently, returns outside the opening hours are not offered at this location.
Age Requirements
AGE REQUIREMENTS - YOUNG DRIVERS
Mini through Economy car groups are available for 19 years old renters.
Compact, Intermediate car groups and cargo vans are available for 21 years old renters.
Fullsize vans and Standard car groups are available for 25 years old renters.
Luxury car groups are restricted to 27 years old or older.
A young drivers fee of 22.00 EUR excluding VAT and airport/railway fees (where applicable) apply to 19-21 years old renters.
A young drivers fee of 11.00 EUR excluding VAT and airport/railway fees (where applicable) apply to 22-24 years old renters.
Young Drivers fee does not apply for Renters aged 25 years or older.
There is no maximum age limit to rent in Italy.
On completion of the booking, it is recommended to carefully check the local Terms and Conditions.
Body Protection
BODY PROTECTION (BP) covers the car body plus the roof (not crystal roof).
Does not cover damages to:
•Lights
•Glass
•Tires
•Rims
•Wheels and Undercarriage of the Vehicle
•Damages to Mechanical Parts
•Interior
•Total or Partial Theft
Cross Border Policy
Vehicles can be driven in all countries of the European Union, plus Norway, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. No additional charges apply for cross-border travel. Prior authorization to leave the country with the vehicle is not required. Returning the vehicle in another country without prior authorization will incur a penalty charge of 2000 EUR plus VAT and surcharges. A penalty of 25,00 EUR will be applied per tolls/traffic violation.
Smart Cover
Smart Cover is an optional protection product which reduces the renters responsibility to 0 (zero) in case of theft and/or damage to the body, glass or wheels.
Please note that a deductible is still applicable for damages to the mechanics, the underbody and interior of the vehicle; Renter is liable to Lessor for a maximum amount equal to the amount indicated as damage excess.
CAMPANIA AND PUGLIA EXCEPTION: Smart Cover does not apply in the event of total or partial theft, or damages from attempted theft in the regions of Campania and Puglia. This is regardless of the location where the rental has started. In this case, a theft excess will be applicable up to the amount highlighted on the excess summary of the rental agreement.
Damage Waiver
Damage Waiver (DW) is included in the reservation. It reduces the costs associated with damage of the vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of your rental agreement.
The applicable excess amounts are:
Mini and Economy: 1200 EUR
Compact Manual: 1500 EUR
Compact Automatic and Wagon, Compact SUV, Intermediate, Standard Wagon: 1700 EUR
Passenger Van and Luxury Wagon: 2000 EUR
Short wheelbase cargo vans: 1900 EUR
Medium and long wheelbase cargo vans: 2300 EUR
Special cargo vans: 3600 EUR
In cases of driver negligence or in violation of applicable laws, road regulations of the country where the vehicle is being driven CDW coverage is invalid. In these cases, the renter will incur the entire financial loss suffered by the Lessor.
Damage Waiver Exclusions/Voids
Damage Waiver does not cover : tire punctures, wheel damage, interior damage, chipped or cracked windshield, wrong fuel, roof damage, undercarriage damage, damage to lights or lenses, mechanical damage, theft of the vehicle or damages resulting from theft, damage from weather, natural disasters, damage from riots or civil unrest, or damage from dangerous substances.
Damage Waiver will be voided if damage is caused by: driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, unauthorized driver, racing or speed contest or competition, unlicensed driver or driver training, driving over state or international borders in violation of the Rental Agreement, towing or pushing, intentional damage, simple negligence, gross negligence or recklessness, driving off of a regularly maintained roadway, using a vehicle for hire, driving in violation of local traffic laws, failure to secure the car keys, or failure to lock or secure the vehicle. IT IS ALSO VOIDED IF THE FOLLOWING OCCUR: transport of persons or goods on behalf of third parties, persons who has given to the Lessor false personal details, persons aged less than 19 and/or provided with a driving license with less than 1 year minimum validity; for engines major than 1.8 cc petrol and major than 2.0 cc diesel engines, by persons aged less than 27 and with a driving license with less than 5 years minimum validity.
Delivery and Collection
Delivery and collection service is available on-request. You can kindly contact our Reservation Center calling the following number +39.02.43020.1 or using email address booking@locautorent.it.
Delays Policy
In case of delay, the car will be kept available up to a maximum of 59 minutes after the scheduled booking time or train arrival/flight landing if such details are provided within the reservation.
For airport/train station bookings the flight number/train number is required to preserve the availability up to a maximum of 59 minutes after landing time/train arrival, and in any case no later than 90 minutes after the branch standard closing time (after closing time an out of hour fee of 30 EUR per rental - excluding VAT and airport and or rail fees where applicable - will be applied).
If no flight /train details are provided, the branch will close at the standard closing time with no grace time of 59 minutes.

Don't Worry Complete Car Protection is an optional protection product which reduces the renters responsibility to 0 (zero) in case of theft, damage to the body, glass and wheels, undercarriage, mechanical parts, upholstery and/or interior trim and combines the benefits of the below items:

One Way Drop Policy
All rentals where the vehicle is not returned to the same location as pick-up will be subject to a one-way fee. Domestic and international one-way rentals are permitted to selected locations and must be pre-booked or authorized at the time of pick-up. The one-way fee varies based on car category, location and pick up date. The exact amount of the one-way fee will be displayed during the reservation process when entering the dates, desired route and car category.
Exclusive Policy
Total charges include Theft Protection (TP), Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Third-Party Liability. VAT, Airport and/or Railway Fee and Road Tax are not included but mandatory at the desk. Additional protection products may be purchased. For rentals more than 28 days a limit of 117 km per day will apply.
Refueling Service
All vehicles are delivered with a full tank of petrol and must be returned in the same condition.
If the vehicle is returned with less than a full tank, in addition to petrol shortage an extra charge of 35.00 EUR plus railway or airport fees and VAT for refueling service will apply.
Glass and Wheels
GLASS AND WHEELS (GW) eliminates the excess in cases of damage on all the tyres components (tyres, hubcups, wheel rims), crystals and lights as windscreen, roof (only crystal roof), back window, glasses, lights, indicators and rear-view mirror glass. Glass and Wheels does not cover the body of the vehicle, undercarriage, mechanical parts and interior. Glass and Wheels does not eliminate the theft excess.
Protect Against Injury
Protection Against Injuries covers the driver in case of injuries related to driving (excluding whiplash injuries). The protection covers up to a maximum of 100,000 EUR in case of death and up to a maximum of 100,000 EUR for permanent disability following to an accident. The compensation payable for permanent disability is determined by applying the percentage of disability assessed to the sum insured, according to the policy conditions criteria available at the Locator’s offices.
Protect Against Injury Exclusions/Voids
Protection Against Injury does not cover: injuries covered by employer's liability or self-inflicted injuries. Personal Accident Insurance will be voided if damage is caused by: driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, unauthorized driver, racing or speed contest or competition, unlicensed driver or driver training, driving over state or international borders in violation of the Rental Agreement, intentional damage, using a vehicle for hire, failure to secure the car keys, or failure to lock or secure the vehicle. It is also voided if the following occur: Transport of persons or goods on behalf of third parties, persons who has given to the Lessor false personal details, persons aged less than 19 and/or provided with a driving license with less than 1 year minimum validity; for engines major than 1.8 cc petrol and major than 2.0 cc diesel engines, by persons aged less than 27 and with a driving license with less than 5 years minimum validity.
Forms of Payment
All major debit and credit cards, issued by either American Express, Mastercard and Visa and Union Pay are accepted. All cards presented must be in the renter's name. Digital cards (Apple Pay/Google Pay etc.), prepaid cards and cash are not accepted as methods of payment. A security deposit plus the estimated cost of the rental will be taken at the time of rental. The deposit is 500 EUR for all vehicle categories.
For Luxury categories, only credit cards are accepted.
A lower deposit of 100 EUR is applicable for customers that choose to purchase the optional 'Don't Worry' coverage.
Roadside Protection
Roadside Plus (RSP) includes a 24-hour emergency service and is handled by our chosen service provider on our behalf. This optional product ensures free car towing in case of breakdown or accident.
Roadside assistance is also available without the purchase of ‘Roadside Plus’. The tow track service will be charged according to the Renter’s special conditions for each service rendered.
Even if purchasing Roadside Plus, customers would be responsible for the cost of the towing if the breakdown or accident is due to driver negligence or willful misconduct.
‘Roadside Plus’ (RSP) is an optional product. Before purchasing RSP it is advised to determine if a personal coverage is adequate. If RSP is declined, the renter will be required to pay these charges and seek compensation though their carrier of personal coverage. RSP is not insurance.
Renter Requirements
All drivers must present a fully valid driving license. Electronic or digital driving licenses are not accepted. All drivers must have held their license for at least 1 year. In addition, all renters must present a valid photo ID such as a passport or government-issued photo ID.A valid debit or credit card in the renter's name must be presented upon collection of the vehicle. If the driving license is written in a language and characters different from those of the country of rental, an International Driving Permit is also required. Renters are advised to check whether local authorities require foreign drivers to present an International Driving Permit to avoid the risk of potential fines. Renters with licenses from countries who are not part of the International Driving Permit Agreement should carry a certified translation. Residents of the country of rental must provide proof of residence by presenting their government-issued photo ID.
Super Theft Protection
SUPER THEFT PROTECTION (STP) is an optional protection product which reduces the renters responsibility to 0 (zero) in case of theft or partial theft. CAMPANIA AND PUGLIA EXCEPTION: Super Theft Protection (STP) does not apply in the event of total or partial theft in the regions of Campania and Puglia. This is regardless of the location where the rental has started. In this case, a theft excess will be applicable up to the amount highlighted on the excess summary of the rental agreement.
Theft Protection
Theft Protection reduces the renters financial liability in the event of the vehicles theft or fire. In all cases of total or partial theft the customer must contact local police and give a copy of the police report to Enterprise/Locauto nearest location.
An excess amount is applicable in the event of theft and depends on the rented category. The applicable excess amounts are:
Mini and Economy: 1800 EUR
Compact Manual: 2000 EUR
Compact Automatic and Wagon, Compact SUV, Intermediate, Standard Wagon: 2200 EUR
Passenger Van and Luxury Wagon: 2800 EUR
Short wheelbase cargo vans: 1900 EUR
Medium and long wheelbase cargo vans: 2300 EUR
Special cargo vans: 3600 EUR
In any case, TP is without effect when negligence or violation of the applicable laws and/or road regulation of the country in which the vehicle is driven happen. In these cases, the renter will pay the whole financial loss suffered by the Lessor.
CAMPANIA AND PUGLIA (applicable to cars only): In the event of total or partial theft or damages from attempted theft in the regions of Campania and Puglia, regardless of the location where the rental has started, the Theft Protection excess is doubled. When purchasing Super Theft Protection, Smart Cover or Don’t Worry services, and the theft happened in the above-mentioned areas, Renter is liable to Lessor for a maximum amount equal to the amount indicated as theft excess in the Special Rental Conditions on the frontispiece of the rental agreement.

Winter Tires
There is a requirement in certain parts of Italy from November to April to have snow chains in the vehicle or to have winter tires installed on the vehicle. This requirement applies regardless of the current weather conditions. Before you pick-up your car please check if your travel route is subject to this regulation.
Visit the websites of POLIZIA DI STATO or AUTOSTRADE for more information. Standard snow chains or textile snow chains will be provided without any additional cost in all locations from November 15th until April 15th.
Throughout the year excluding period from November 15th until April 15th snow chains/textile snow chains will be available on request with an additional cost of 4 EURO per day Airport and or Railway fees where applicable and VAT included up to a maximum of 32 EURO per rental. A 100 EUR fee will be charged for lost or damaged snow chains year round.
Vehicles equipped with winter tires may be available at the time of rental for an additional fee please ask staff when you show up to pick up the rental vehicle.
Winter tires are NOT included and can be required exclusively at the pick-up time within the depot. If available, customers will be required to pay the related fee locally, ranging from 10€ + tax per day, up to a max. charge of 22,20 € + taxes per day, depending on the hired car category.
